Working on my intimacy with God!

Romans 8:28 – 30
The first great day in man’s life is the day he is born. The second great day in his life is the day he discovers purpose. Purpose is the reason for a thing or the ‘why’ of a thing.
God is a God of purpose. He created every human being purposefully. Outside of purpose, life is empty. Purpose is the key to relevance and fulfillment.
Response to God’s purpose for your life will make all things to work out together for you.
The Bible says
Eph 6:13 KJV
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
The evil day is the day of the enemy’s onslaught. There will be good days and bad days. But what will make bad days of non effect in your life is purpose. All things will simply work together according to
Rom 8:28 KJV
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Purpose is motivation. Purpose is the definition for success. You are only successful if you are successful in God’s sight.
Nobody is an accident. There is an end goal. Your end goal ought to drive and determine the career you pursue.
You must be driven by purpose. A lot of people are driven by wrong things.
1. GUILTDon’t be driven by guilt. Don’t focus on the past. God does not consult your past to determine your future. If God consults pasts, Rahab will not make it to Hebrew 11, but she actually ended being an ancestor of Jesus Christ! A harlot!
It is a curse to be haunted by your past continuously. In Gen 4:12, Cain was haunted by his past because he was under a curse for murdering his brother.
God did not consult Apostle Paul’s past. In Acts 8, he was an accomplice to Stephen’s murder. In Acts 9, he was called of God into the ministry! You can move on with your life. Do not allow the past to paralyze you!
1Jn 1:9 KJV
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Message Translation says
1Jn 1:9 MSG
On the other hand, if we admit our sins–make a clean breast of them–he won’t let us down; he’ll be true to himself. He’ll forgive our sins and purge us of all wrongdoing.
2. RESENTMENTS AND ANGERDon’t be driven by Resentments and anger.
Resentment is a feeling of deep and bitter anger and ill-will. Usually people driven by resentments are evidenced in their withdrawal symptoms. They simply withdraw into their cocoons. They hibernate from all activities in order to show their resentments.
They cut off from all meaningful relationships, but what they don’t understand is that purpose cannot be fulfilled in isolation. Actually, the truth is that resentments hurt you more than the person you resent.
On the other hand, some people react to pain and hurts through outbursts and anger tantrums. Anger is a strong emotion; a feeling that is oriented toward some real or supposed grievance.
Either way, you must let go of pain and hurts. Those who have hurt you in the past cannot hurt you any longer unless you hold on to the pain. Forgive, and let go of hurts.
Stop allowing resentments and anger to drive you! Be driven by purpose.
Psa 37:8 KJV
Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
Message translation says
Psa 37:8 MSG
Bridle your anger, trash your wrath, cool your pipes–it only makes things worse.
3. FEAR
Being fearful simply means to be afraid or feel anxious or apprehensive about a possible or probable situation or event.
Fear is a spirit. Fearful and timid people never dare anything or step out in life. Don’t be afraid of making mistakes. Don’t be afraid of people laughing at you.
2Ti 1:7 AMP
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control.
You can make a new choice. Don’t be afraid. Try one more business. Write that examination again. Change approaches and methodology. Step out again.
You are not a failure! Shake off the past.
Courage rises in the face of fear. The way to conquer fear is to do what you are afraid to do. Don’t let fear determine your choice that you have to make. Deal with fear. Confront your fear. Don’t let the fear of being laughed to scorn stop you from becoming who God created you to be.
The best answer to those who laugh at you is your productivity because wisdom is justified by her children.
Don’t be driven with fear! Be driven by purpose.
4. MATERIALISM
Whatever drives you will color your judgment. Possessions and acquisitions will wear off. Material things will eventually bore you. Cars, houses, and other good things will lose their novelty with time.
Don’t allow materialism to drive you. Let purpose drive you.
Heb 13:5 MSG
Don’t be obsessed with getting more material things. Be relaxed with what you have. Since God assured us, “I’ll never let you down, never walk off and leave you,”
5. NEED FOR APPROVAL
Don’t be driven by the need for approval. Don’t live by the expectations and approval of spouses, bosses, friends etc.
Real friends are not manipulative. No matter how kind you are, you will fall below some people’s expectations.
Deliver yourself from people’s approval. Don’t live your life based on people’s approval.
Don’t be afraid to stand alone when you are right. Let purpose determine who you are and who you relate to.
Luk 6:26 MSG
“There’s trouble ahead when you live only for the approval of others, saying what flatters them, doing what indulges them. Popularity contests are not truth contests–look how many scoundrel preachers were approved by your ancestors! Your task is to be true, not popular.
